Sources and method

Refreshed daily at 13:40 UTC, with a second pass on weekday evenings at 23:40 UTC for U.S. floor action and the day’s EU and UK votes.

About this data

Bills, laws, executive orders, resolutions, treaties and court rulings on tech, AI and data, from official legislative and government sources (Congress.gov, the Federal Register, the UK Parliament, EU institutions, the UN, governors’ newsrooms) and news, found by a daily agent with an evening pass on weekdays. The starting set was researched by hand on official pages; new finds from news are marked unverified until checked. The dataset grows as measures are introduced, move and pass. Not legal advice. Anonymous usage stats via Google Analytics.

Questions

What does Legislations track?

The legislative pipeline for technology, AI and data: bills and where they stand, floor votes and hearings, enacted laws, executive orders, resolutions and treaties, and landmark court rulings that strike down, block or uphold a tech law. It covers the U.S. Congress and federal executive actions, all 50 states and DC, the EU, the UN, the African Union, the Council of Europe and national legislatures such as the UK, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Brazil, Australia and Italy.

How is this different from Regulations and Lawsuits?

Regulations (regulations.fru.dev) covers rules once they are in force and the compliance deadlines they set. Lawsuits (lawsuits.fru.dev) covers court cases. Legislations follows measures while they move and the news they make; when a law is also on Regulations, or a ruling’s case is on Lawsuits, the item links there.

How current is it?

An agent runs every day at 13:40 UTC and again on weekday evenings at 23:40 UTC. It reads Congress.gov, the Federal Register, the UK Parliament Bills API, EU and UN press offices and governors’ newsrooms, then searches the news. Items from official sources are marked verified; items found in the news are marked unverified until checked.

What do the stage steps mean?

Four steps: introduced, in committee, passed a floor vote, and law. Passed both chambers fills most of the third step. A vetoed, failed or withdrawn measure shows where it stopped, in grey. Rulings, orders and resolutions are one step: done when issued or adopted.

Are party labels and votes editorial?

No. Party is the sponsor’s party as the legislature records it (D, R or I for U.S. measures), a bipartisan chip means sponsors from both parties, and vote tallies are copied from the record. There is no scoring or commentary.

Is this legal advice?

No. These are short summaries of public records for reference. Read the official page linked on each item.

Summaries of public legislative records, executive actions and court rulings, for reference, not legal advice. Check the official page linked on each item. Today is 2026-09-27.
